Frequently asked questions

Is the Meta Quest 3S good for sim racing?

On paper, the Meta Quest 3S offers 20 pixels per degree (1832 × 1920 per eye), a 96° horizontal field of view, compressed video streaming from the PC (Wi-Fi or USB cable). Meta states that the headset plays PC VR through Meta Quest Link or Air Link, and streams the Steam library through Steam Link. Most PC racing sims support OpenXR or SteamVR headsets: check the VR support of your sim before buying. This is a spec-sheet comparison, not a hands-on test.

How sharp is the Meta Quest 3S?

Meta states 20 PPD with 1832 × 1920 pixels per eye. Pixels per degree (PPD) measure how many pixels cover one degree of your view: the higher the figure, the easier it is to read mirrors, gauges and braking boards.

How does the Meta Quest 3S connect to a PC?

USB-C (Meta Quest Link cable) or Wi-Fi 6E (Air Link, Steam Link). The PC image is compressed before it reaches the headset, which can soften fine details compared with a DisplayPort link.

Does the Meta Quest 3S need base stations?

No. Inside-out (4 IR cameras, 2 RGB cameras). The cameras on the headset track its position.

Does the Meta Quest 3S work on PS5?

No console support is stated by Meta. In our selection, the Sony PlayStation VR2 is the only headset for PS5.

What score does the Meta Quest 3S get?

The Meta Quest 3S scores 8.2/10 ("Good") in the VR headset category, ranking 13 of 13. The score is calculated from the official specs and the checked price, with no hands-on test.

How much does the Meta Quest 3S cost?

The price checked on 29 October 2026 is €359.99. It may have changed since.
