Platform first. On PS5, the PlayStation VR2 is the only option in our selection. On PC, every headset in this list works, through a cable, a Wi-Fi link or an adapter.
Lenses and clarity. Review pages list the lens type when the manufacturer states it (pancake, Fresnel or aspheric) and the clarity figure: at a similar field of view, a higher PPD figure means sharper mirrors and gauges.
Comfort over a race. All headsets under this budget weigh around 500 g or more as stated: a counterweight or a better strap can matter over a long stint.
